Cancer is a metabolic disease, which means it results from a combination of genetics and lifestyle. I don’t have the tools to change your genetics, but I can work with you to turn off genes that cause cancer and turn on genes that prevent it. We do that with positive lifestyle changes including a clean diet, modifying stress response, exercising more and sleeping better.
I approach cancer not just as someone who’s done a lot of research (although I have). I’ve been there. In 2010, I was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal bone cancer and given a short time to live. After three years of treatment, using both traditional chemotherapy and radiation treatments as well as alternative methods, especially shifting my diet and lifestyle, I am now cancer free.
Because I understand cancer personally, I learned what to do when the effects of treatment become overwhelming.
- I know how to use diet and exercise to make traditional treatments more effective and less traumatic.
- I’m familiar with the exhausting process of navigating the medical system.
- I can recommend topics to talk with your doctor about.
- I will be your advocate when things get daunting.
- I will also push you to advocate for yourself.
The road will be uncomfortable and hard. When you’re beaten down by another round of chemo, you need to get up and exercise. When you’re depressed and sad and just want to be alone, I’ll encourage you to be around people you love. So often, what you really need is the exact opposite of what it feels like you need.
I work primarily with colon cancer, pancreatic cancer and breast cancer patients because those are the three most prevalent cancers; however, I have the background knowledge to help those suffering from other cancers too.
I’m willing to work with clients pursuing both traditional and alternative treatment methods. But whatever route we go, I expect my clients to fight cancer with everything they have. I don’t believe in surrendering. Let’s fight it. Let’s beat it. Let’s get the rest of your life back.
